Toyota announced that its luxury brand, Lexus, will arrive in Mexico during the last quarter of the year through five dealerships distributed throughout the country.
These distributors will be independent of the Toyota brand and will be three in Mexico City, one in Monterrey, and one in Guadalajara. The opening will take place in a period starting at the end of 2021 and ending in February 2022.
The announcement was made during the event in which Toyota presented the sales results in the first quarter of the year, of which 6,038 units sold were electrified hybrid models, which represented more than 27% of total sales.
Among Toyota’s best-selling cars during this first quarter are:
- Hilux (4,482 units)
- RAV4 (3,593 drives)
- Avanza (2,174 units)
- Corolla (2,096 units)
- Prius C (1,768 units)
In total, during the first three months of 2021, Toyota managed to sell 21,863 units. The automaker’s sales target for this year is 80,000 vehicles delivered.
