One million doses of the Chinese Sinovac vaccine arrives in Mexico

So far, it is the second largest shipment that has arrived in the country

This morning, one million doses of the COVID-19 vaccine from the pharmaceutical company Sinovac arrived at the Mexico City International Airport from China.

The shipment of CoronaVac vaccines is the second largest that the country has received, so far, since it equaled the arrival of March 13, when a million antigens were also received.

Marcelo Ebrard, head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (SRE), announced through his Twitter account that the doses from Hong Kong would be transferred inside refrigerated containers.

“Refrigerated containers with 1,000,000 Sinovac vaccines in Hong Kong. They are already flying. Tomorrow they will arrive at the CDMX Airport at dawn. You can see that support !! ”, said the official with grace.

With these new biologics, to date 10,758,395 doses have been received, of which 4,548,375 are from Pfizer, 870,000 are from AstraZeneca, 4,000,000 from Sinovac, 400,000 Sputnik V and 940,020 from CanSino.

Likewise, Mexico also has 5,000,000 bulk doses of Cansino and 12,000,000 of AstraZeneca, ready for packaging in specialized plants within the country.

Vaccination in Mexico

Three months after the start of the national vaccination campaign, there is a cumulative 6,119,298 doses applied. In addition, 3 thousand 872 vaccines have been classified as losses. In other words, due to its storage conditions, the active principle lost its effectiveness in immunization.
