San Cristóbal de Las Casas.- Jorge Hernández González, Manager of the Makia Group, considered that not closing the beaches in Chiapas helps that the influx of tourists in San Cristóbal in the next vacations is not low, since most of them.

“The activity is regular, we are not at 100 percent, people continue to take care of themselves but we hope that in Easter we can have a little more tourists, those who are coming the most (on bridges are local) and the beaches are good that an agreement was reached because they have also been difficult times for everyone, tourism is an affected part and with the total closure, they were going to be very affected, we are glad they have reached a good agreement and continue to respect the measures, ” he said.

He assured that as a Makia group and the vast majority of tourist entrepreneurs, they respect the sanitary measures indicated by the Secretary of Health, for which he invited the population to respect all filters, since to mention, within businesses have stopped using letters and now everything is by QR codes.

He calculated that by next week there would be between 50-60 percent of influx compared to other years, “this is good for us, thanks to the state government’s decision to keep the beaches open, because as tourism entrepreneurs, we are the hardest hit by the pandemic ”.

Hernández González, said that at Makia group they did everything possible to avoid reducing their payroll of employees since sales had fallen, but it is important that they are letting them work since there are more than 400 employees among administrators, but if we count all the employees in hotels and restaurants that belong to the group, we’re talking about many more.
