Food & Travel recognizes San Miguel with “Resilience Award”

San Miguel de Allende, Gto. (March 16, 2021).– In the seventh edition of the Food and Travel Reader Awards and, given the challenges faced by the tourism and gastronomic sector in the country due to the health contingency caused by the pandemic, the name of San Miguel de Allende was highlighted in the Food and Travel Mexico Resilience 2020 awards.

The municipality was awarded in the category of the Initiative for the Reactivation of Tourism in Mexico with the “Here we are standing!” initiative, promoting safe tourism and the sources of employment that it provides as an example of empathy and solidarity; in addition to joining efforts to reactivate, all together, the travel industry in an orderly manner, favoring community, local and proximity tourism.

In addition, the Hotel Rosewood San Miguel de Allende received recognition in the category “Hotels that devised new experiences to pamper travelers” for reinventing its concept with travel experiences for its guests hand in hand with good service.

In the “Restaurant Opening” category, Anonymous Rooftop, Kouyin Asian Eatery, and Nómada Cocina de Interpretación were recognized for the value of creating new gastronomic projects during the pandemic. In this same sense, for the audacity to open a new hotel with a novel proposal during 2020, Casa Hoyos Hotel Boutique and Clandestino Hotel were awarded in the category of “Hotel Opening”.

The Food and Travel Reader Awards have been a benchmark for the opinion of readers in the gastronomic and tourism field for 7 years and, through Food and Travel México Resiliencia, the country’s gastronomic and tourism scene is recognized for its ability to transform and resurface amid the adversity that 2020 meant for the whole world.
