Mexico and Thailand seek a greater commercial relationship


The governments of Mexico and Thailand spoke for the fourth time in the framework of the Meeting of the Political Consultation Mechanism and the 45th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations, reported the Ministry of Foreign Relations. For both countries, the main points of their bilateral cooperation are on issues such as tourism, agriculture, health, and the environment. They agree that the essential thing is to promote trade and investment to promote global economic recovery.

The delegations of this virtual meeting were headed by the respective general directors, Claudia Franco and Witchu Vejjajiva. According to information from the Foreign Ministry, Thailand acknowledged Mexico’s push in the UN Security Council and the G20 to the need to ensure global access to medicines, vaccines, and health equipment to control the pandemic of the Covid-19

On the other hand, starting Monday and remotely from Costa Rica, at the fourth meeting of the Forum on Sustainable Development, the countries of Latin America and the Caribbean will analyze progress in the application of the 2030 Agenda. Government representatives will participate in the work. , international institutions, the academic and private sector, as well as civil society.

They will also discuss the “resilient and sustainable” recovery after the Covid-19 pandemic, the achievement of the 2030 agenda and a better future for the region.

The results of the meeting will be sent to the UN High-Level Political Forum on Sustainable Development, a global mechanism for monitoring the 2030 Agenda that meets in July each year in New York.

The increasingly close relationship between Mexico and Thailand, the participation of both countries in international markets such as the Trans-Pacific Partnership Agreement (TPP), will be more consolidated in the Asia-Pacific region.
