Starting this Thursday, the Baja California Sur Secretariat of Health (SSa) will start with the influenza campaign in which they will apply about 200 thousand vaccines.
The health secretary in the entity, Víctor George Flores, explained that the biological has already been applied to health workers and 15 to the general population.
He clarified that the vaccination season will start on October 15, so they hope that during that month they will achieve at least 50 percent of the 200 thousand doses of vaccines that the agency has as a goal until March.
“The state goal of vaccination against influenza is around 200 thousand doses to people with risk factors. At the moment the SSA of Baja California Sur already received a first shipment. The vaccine lots from the IMSS, ISSSTE and the Armed Forces are in transit, hence the immunization of health personnel is beginning and once all the input is received, it will be applied in a generalized manner.
He explained that the vaccine will be applied to risk groups, such as children from six months to five years, pregnant women, older adults, and people with a chronic non-communicable disease, such as severe obesity, uncontrolled diabetes, heart problems, severe respiratory disease, HIV and cancer.
