Mazatlan Sinaloa.- During three days, the first gastronomic festival “El Otro Sabor de Mazatlán” will take place in the port, an event that is transcendental for local cuisine, but which will also promote the city.
In order to innovate, promote, attract more tourists and reactivate the economy of the port of Mazatlán through culinary art, from September 24 to 26, one of the most important gastronomic events will take place in the destination, which today is called “The other flavor of Mazatlán.”
At a press conference from the Restaurant “El Presidio”, Mayor Luis Guillermo Benitez Torres thanked Canaco and Canirac Mazatlán, as well as businessmen, for joining this event that seeks the evolution of Mazatlan cuisine and attracting the attention of the locals and visitors.
“(…) We have made this event possible, which has many purposes, first, to continue evolving in the kitchen, in the new flavor of Mazatlán, and second, to attract the attention of all visitors and make it an attraction so that every day we have more tourists in Mazatlán ”.
Guillermo Romero Rodríguez, a representative of Concanaco, said that “El Otro Sabor de Mazatlán” begins on Thursday 24 of this month with the arrival of participating chefs such as Rosie O’Connor, Zahie Téllez, Sergio Camacho, and Luis Osuna, among others, and the activities will continue on Friday 25 and Saturday 26.
He said that the objective is to reactivate the economy through gastronomy, and activities, such as talks and preparation of dishes between international, national, and local chefs, will be broadcast through the Facebook page “El Otro Sabor de Mazatlán.”
He stressed that three dinners will be offered for sale to the public, and the host restaurants will handle their reservations and the reception of clients in compliance with sanitary restrictions.
Chefs Rosie O’Connor, Andrea Lizárraga and Julián Portugal, as well as Jesús Sandoval, leader of Canaco Servytur, were present at the press conference.
Mayor Luis Guillermo Benítez Torres said that tourism is the main economic activity in the city, and therefore, it will continue to be promoted. Even in the application “Mztourist App” will be installed routes of seafood restaurants or another concept, as well as craft beer, for the larger community of visitors.
