Playa Los Muertos Tops List of World’s Best Gay Beaches

Puerto Vallarta, Mexico – One of the most iconic beaches in Puerto Vallarta topped the 2020 GayCities.com list of the World’s Best Gay Beaches, which reinforces the solid positioning that this destination has in the LGBT segment, one of the most faithful all year round, which also leaves an economic outflow higher than that of other tourist segments.

This distinction is relevant, as GayCities.com is a reference site for LGBT tourism in North America, and its recommendations are undoubtedly appreciated by its many readers.

The offer for the LGBT segment in Puerto Vallarta is wide, there are hotels, bars, clubs, businesses and shows specialized in serving the LGBT community.

This idyllic beach destination, in addition to being recognized for its hospitality, is also known for its honest and heartfelt acceptance of sexual diversity, making it a gay-friendly city where respect is offered, and reciprocated, by the thousands of LGBT tourists who enjoy their vacations here year after year.

The recently published article says “If you’ve been doing Zoom workouts in your living room since the world went into quarantine, sun, surf, and beaches surely are calling you. With a stylish mask and six feet apart emblazoned in your mind, it’s time to get out and catch that summer Vitamin D before the leaves start to fall.”

Here’s why GayCities.com recommends Los Muertos Beach:

“This beach is the epicenter of Puerto Vallarta. Located south of the Malecón in front of the Cuale River in the city’s Romantic Zone, Los Muertos Beach draws locals, traveling sun-seekers, and adventurers alike.

Rafael Zamarripa’s iconic sculpture, Caballito de Mar, or ‘The Seahorse,’ stands strong at the end of the beach, just off of the popular Mantamar Beach Club Bar & Grill. Mantamar boasts a truly adults-only beach experience with a sexy pool scene, delicious cocktails, and plenty of eye candy.

Not in the mood for a beach club? Grab a spot on the chairs in front of Blue Chairs Resort and soak up the sun. Architect Jesus Torres Vega designed the new Los Muertos Pier, which opened in the winter of 2013. Stroll along the pier towards the Malecon and take in the sculptures, sites, and sounds of the renovated Puerto Vallarta.”

The beaches of Puerto Vallarta have been open to tourists since June 15. Local hotels also opened on this date, but, as a measure of responsibility, they are only operating at up to 25 percent of their capacity.

So what are you waiting for? Start packing your sunscreen and beach towels NOW! For a more cautious approach, put a Puerto Vallarta beach vacation on your bucket list for the post-COVID world.
