The state government is the one that has the directive regarding the closure of nightclubs, nightclubs, canteens, casinos and bowling alleys, restaurants and for this reason, these establishments have already suspended their activities, including in Mazatlán, where the mayor is has refused to close them, Octavio Ruiz Fonseca clarified.
The head of the Directorate of Inspection and Regulations of the state government recalled that last Monday, Governor Quirino Ordaz Coppel announced the closure of nightclubs, gyms, cinemas, and other public venues within the framework of the health contingency due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Furthermore, this decision is supported by a presidential decree published in the Official Gazette of the Federation, in which the 3 levels of government are requested to act accordingly to prevent the spread of the coronavirus.
Without entering into further controversy, Ruiz Fonseca explained that for this reason, in all of Sinaloa, the Directorate of Inspection and Regulations confirmed the closure of 304 establishments such as clubs, canteens, casinos, table dance, and cabarets, including in Mazatlán, despite Mazatlans mayor refusal to do so.
“In these businesses the stewardship is held by the state government … I read the comments of the municipal president, concerned about the economy, tourism, but this goes much further, it is a matter of national emergency, we have already entered phase 2 and It has already been said which establishments should close. Furthermore, the Official Gazette decree provides support for the governor’s decision, ”he said in an interview with Línea Directa.
Octavio Ruiz Fonseca clarified that he cannot speak for gyms and cinemas, since they are outside the competence of the Directorate of Inspection and Regulations.
As for the restaurants, warehouses and supermarkets that sell alcohol, he indicated that there is still no instruction to close them, only to take preventive measures.
The official asserted that any establishment that ignores the suspension measures due to the contingency, the license will be withdrawn and will have to be closed permanently. He asked the population to report any business of this type that opens its doors during this contingency, calling the number 01-800-849-79-11.
