The Chamber of Commerce requires the City Council supply parking in the first square of the city

Mazatlán, Sinaloa. – After the City Council painted yellow lines through the streets of the city center, the president of the Mazatlán National Chamber of Commerce, Services and Tourism, Jesús Sandoval Gaxiola, called on local authorities to search for and offer parking alternatives public in the area.

He stated that there are complaints from merchants about the elimination of practically all the parking lots in the first square of the city, making it difficult for their customers to get to business.

We are somehow demanding that the City Council, if it is going to do those measures, then there is the option of putting some parking lots. Although with a charge, but that it is a symbolic charge, that it is not very high for those who are going to buy a product there.

Sandoval Gaxiola

Sandoval Gaxiola considered that before having chosen to eliminate these spaces, he should have thought of renting a piece of land so as not to affect motorists looking to go and make purchases in the first box of the city.

He said that the formal businesses have not reported losses, but they have inconvenience because they struggle a lot to park far away, the management actions are good, but citizens must also be given options.

He recalled that by itself with the remodeling that was done a couple of years ago, many parking spaces were removed, with this program of the City Council they are almost nil in the entire center.

SALES DECREASE

A few days ago, tenants of the municipal market José María Pino Suárez, complained that with the reduction in the perimeter of parking lots of the first square of the city, it has been a factor that has caused a decrease of 70% in sales.
