Durango, Mexico 01/20/2020.- Compañía Minera Autlán is one of the most important ferroalloy production companies in Mexico. Its clients include national and international steel companies such as Glencore, Ternium and Altos Hornos de México.

In the third quarter of 2019, Autlán reported a 1% drop in its revenues to US$114.8mn. This decline was coupled with an 11.7% year-on-year contraction in production of ferroalloys due to lower demand for these products.

According to some estimates, due to the unstable global trade scenario, international demand for steel in 2019 suffered a contraction of approximately 10%.

In addition to the recessive conditions in the national economy, this resulted in a fall in production of steel regionally, which in turn led to a lower demand for manganese ferroalloys, inputs in the production of steel and Autlán’s main products.
