SINALOA, Mexico – A criminal organization has reportedly issued a series of public messages across several municipalities in Sinaloa, leveling grave accusations of military collusion and targeting the highest levels of the Mexican federal government.
Banners featuring these messages were discovered in strategic locations across the municipalities of Mazatlán, Concordia, Escuinapa, and Rosario during the early hours of Friday morning.
Allegations of Military Collusion
The public statements, which are attributed to a faction of an organized crime group, specifically target three prominent federal figures: President Claudia Sheinbaum, Secretary of National Defense (SEDENA) General Ricardo Trevilla Trejo, and Secretary of Security and Citizen Protection Omar García Harfuch.
The text outlines a series of disturbing allegations, claiming that members of the Mexican military have engaged in collaborative patrols with rival criminal groups in the southern region of Sinaloa. The group further alleges that these soldiers participated in “irregular operations,” including unauthorized home raids and illegal detentions.
Responsibility for Soldier Deaths
The banners also claim responsibility for a recent ambush in the town of La Concepción, located in the municipality of Concordia. According to the criminal group, the attack resulted in the deaths of three members of the Mexican Army. To bolster their claims, the group included photographs and the names of the individuals they believe were involved in the incident.
Official Silence
As of the latest reports, neither the Secretariat of National Defense (SEDENA) nor state authorities have issued an official statement regarding the authenticity of the banners or the veracity of the claims presented.
The appearance of these messages comes during a period of heightened tension in Sinaloa, where the government continues to battle entrenched organized crime and navigate a complex security landscape marked by allegations of internal corruption and systemic violence.
