The largest human image of a shirt is 4,757 people, and was achieved by Gobierno de México (Mexico) with the support of SECTUR & Estado de Chiapas in Tuxtla Gutiérrez, Chiapas, Mexico, on 27 February 2026.

With the World Cup taking place in 2026, this was done as a celebration of soccer.

This way, Mexico achieved a new Guinness World Record for the largest human image of a shirt, featuring 4,757 participants. The event was organized to celebrate the upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup and took place at the Víctor Manuel Reyna Stadium in Tuxtla Gutiérrez, the state capital of Chiapas. 

Key details of the record-breaking event:

  • Participants: 4,757 people, including students and local residents.
  • Dimensions: The human-formed jersey measured approximately 48 meters wide (including sleeves) and 35.5 meters high.
  • Colors: Volunteers wore green, red, and white, forming the colors of the Mexican national flag.
  • Organization: Supported by the Gobierno de México, SECTUR (Secretaría de Turismo), and the Estado de Chiapas.
  • Significance: This was the first of three scheduled records intended to promote the “Social World Cup” program ahead of the 2026 World Cup. 

The record broke the previous mark held by Bucaramanga, Colombia, where 2,891 people formed a soccer shirt in 2018.
