Arteaga, Coahuila, is preparing for a major tourism boost this April, expecting up to 85,000 visitors during the Festival of the Seven Cazuelas and a series of cultural and musical events, with an estimated economic impact of nearly 50 million pesos.

Festival of the Seven Cazuelas

  • Dates: April 3–4, 2026
  • Location: Explanada de la Presidencia Municipal, Arteaga
  • Highlights:
    • Traditional cuaresma dishes prepared by local cooks
    • Regional products including artisanal bread, ice cream, liqueurs, and fruit preserves
    • Folkloric ballet performances and artisan exhibitions
  • Expected Attendance: Up to 85,000 visitors

Expanded April Program

Starting April 4, activities will spread across five communities: El Tunal, Los Lirios, Huachichil, San Antonio de las Alazanas, and Arteaga’s municipal center.

  • Artists Confirmed: Los Cadetes de Linares, Los Mora, Los Capitanes de Ojinaga, Los Traileros del Norte, and Lalo Mora

Tourism and Security

  • Hotel Occupancy: In 2025, occupancy reached 85% in cabins; for 2026, a 6% growth in visitors and revenue is projected.
  • Current Lodging: Arteaga has 60 registered cabins, with 67% occupancy as of March 20.
  • Security Measures: Coordinated operations by Civil Protection, Firefighters, Public Security, and Tourist Police to ensure safe festivities.

Local Impact

Mayor Ana Karen Sánchez Flores emphasized that the festival strengthens Arteaga’s identity as a Pueblo Mágico and promotes local tourism. She also urged service providers to join the National Tourism Registry to enhance visitor confidence and formalize the sector.
