Iván “N” (aka The Joker) is also linked to more than twenty homicides in the state.
The investigation into an armed attack against state police officers that left one officer dead led to the killing of Iván “N,” alias “Joker,” identified as the head of hitmen for the Jalisco New Generation Cartel (CJNG) in Colima.
During an operation carried out this Friday, officers from the State Public Security Secretariat (SSP) located the pickup truck involved in the armed attack—which occurred on February 27. Iván “N” was inside the vehicle along with three alleged members of the criminal organization.
Fabián Ricardo Gómez Calcaño, Secretary of Public Security, explained that a confrontation ensued after two official units pursued the pickup truck.
When ordered to stop, the suspects opened fire on the officers, who returned fire.
Gómez Calcaño stated that they have information indicating that three of the four criminals fired their weapons at one of the police vehicles, resulting in the deaths of all the alleged CJNG members.
He also reported that no security personnel were injured in the operation. Only one officer sustained a minor injury when he cut himself on a piece of sheet metal while exiting the patrol car.
“The Joker”was implicated in more than 25 murders in the state
Iván “N” (aka The Joker) is identified by authorities as the head of hitmen for the CJNG in the state. The criminal cell he led operated in both Manzanillo and Colima.
Furthermore, after obtaining testimonies, it was determined that “Joker” is personally responsible for eight murders in Manzanillo and two in Colima, as well as having ordered more than 15 homicides in the state.
The individual had already been arrested in 2025 on Venus Street in the municipality of Manzanillo, along with a man identified as Nicolás “N”.
He was sentenced to three years and one month for violating the Federal Law on Firearms and Explosives, but obtained conditional release after posting bail of 500,000 pesos.
