On Thursday, March 5th, a Whitehall Township man was convicted at trial of raping a then 14-year-old girl he previously fled with to Mexico.
The 53-year-old Kevin Esterly was found guilty on Thursday, March 5th, in Lehigh County Court of rape, involuntary deviate sexual intercourse, two counts of statutory sexual assault, and endangering the welfare of a child stemming from a series of sexual assaults that started in the summer of 2016 and continued until March 2018, prosecutors said.
Sentencing is scheduled for June 30 and Esterly faces a possible sentence of 43.5 years to 87 years in state prison, according to a news release from the Lehigh County District Attorney’s Office.
