“El Contador” (The Accountant), alleged financial operator for the Sinaloa Cartel in Morelos and close associate of Jupiter N, was arrested in Cuernavaca. He had ties to local mayors.
The Special Prosecutor’s Office for High-Impact Crimes (FIDAI) arrested Edgar N., alias “El Contador,” an alleged financial operator for the Sinaloa Cartel and close associate of Jupiter N., identified as the leader of this criminal group in Morelos.
According to the National Registry of Detentions, “El Contador” was arrested in the municipality of Cuernavaca, at a shopping center in the Lomas de la Selva neighborhood. A woman identified as Marissa N. was also arrested, according to the same registry.
Based on collected data, the FIDAI (Special Prosecutor’s Office for the Investigation of Crimes Against Humanity) filed charges this Monday, February 23, for the crime of illegal possession of a firearm, against both Edgar N and the aforementioned woman.
Edgar N is currently being held at the Morelos Social Reintegration Center, located in Atlacholoya, municipality of Xochitepec, under pretrial detention.
Connection to Mayors of the Eastern Region
The accountant gained notoriety after a video was released showing him in the company of the mayor of Cuautla, Jesús Corona Damián, and the mayor of Atlatlahucan, Agustín Toledano. The reason for the meeting remains unclear.
In February 2025, a video began circulating on social media featuring these mayors, who were meeting with the alleged leader of the Sinaloa Cartel in Morelos, Jupiter N, on a property in Totolapan, which was later seized.
