Edomex Prosecutor’s Office detains six individuals carrying weapons and wearing counterfeit insignia
Agents of the Attorney General’s Office of the State of Mexico (FGJEM) arrested six individuals identified as Víctor Jesús “N”, Alejandro “N”, Omar Eliel “N”, Jorge Luis “N”, David Ulises “N”, and Jan Carlo Alejandro “N” for their probable involvement in the crimes of simulating an official vehicle, improper use of insignia, and possession of prohibited weapons.
These individuals were caught in the act when agents from the Prosecutor’s Office were patrolling the streets of the municipality of Huehuetoca and noticed a black Chevrolet SUV equipped with strobe lights, inside which six men were traveling.
Upon noticing this, the agents ordered the vehicle to stop, but the occupants ignored the instruction, prompting a pursuit that ended a few streets ahead.
Once they were detained and the vehicle was inspected, authorities seized three firearms, two replica firearms, and clothing featuring colors, shields, and markings imitating those used by personnel of the Prosecutor’s Office.
After confirming that none of the detainees were active members of the institution, all individuals were taken into custody and placed at the disposal of the Public Prosecutor, who initiated the corresponding investigation.
These individuals must be presumed innocent until proven guilty by the competent authority.
The Attorney General’s Office provides the public with the email address cerotolerancia@fiscaliaedomex.gob.mx, the phone number 800 702 8770, and the FGJEdomex mobile app—available for free on iOS and Android devices—to report any criminal activity.
