The Chinese New Year parade, a gastronomic festival, cinema, fairs, and exhibitions are free events that CDMX will have this weekend.

During the weekend of February 6 to 8, spaces in CDMX such as the Zócalo, the Historic Center, the Los Pinos Cultural Complex, and the Chapultepec Forest will host recreational and cultural events that can be enjoyed for free.

The capital will begin celebrating Chinthe ese New Year with a parade, dance, and martial arts performances from the Asian country. 1. Chinese New Year 2026 Parade

In 2026, the Chinese New Year will begin on February 17. However, CDMX will have events to celebrate the Year of the Fire Horse starting this weekend. The National Museum of World Cultures, in collaboration with the Chinese embassy in Mexico, will organize a parade through the streets of the Historic Center on Saturday, February 7, starting at 10:00 a.m. In addition, in the museum you can enjoy shows such as the dances of the lion and the dragon, acostume course, workshops, conferences, and even martial art exhibitions.

2. Coffee and Chocolate Fest

To combat the cold that has been unleashed in recent days in CDMX, one of the most recommended events is the Coffee and Chocolate Fest, which in February will have a special Valentine’s Day edition. Hot drinks, such as chocolate and specialty coffee, will be available. Also, products such as cocoa beans, chocolate bars, truffles, chocolates, swarms , and more are ideal gifts for February 14. In addition, workshops will be given to learn how to prepare your own chocolate or to distinguish a specialty coffee from a commercial one.
