With avocado certification and quality standards, Michoacán is ready for the USMCA

The governor of Michoacán recognized the work of the Secretary of Economy, Marcelo Ebrard, in conducting negotiations with the United States.

With the Pro-forest Avocado certification and the formalization of labor in the field, Michoacán is emerging as a strategic actor to strengthen Mexico’s position in the renegotiation of the Agreement between Mexico, the United States, and Canada (USMCA).

This is based on actions that link agricultural productivity, environmental sustainability, and labor formalization.

In a context where Michoacan agriculture is key to the national economy, especially in the avocado field, the governor of Michoacán, Alfredo Ramírez Bedolla, stressed that the state is prepared to provide certainty, as well as competitiveness, to trade with the United States and Canada.
