More than 25 hotels in the port city welcome your pets; consider the restrictions and extra costs of some of them to ensure an unforgettable vacation.
Acapulco is positioning itself as one of the pet-friendly beach destinations in the country, with more than 25 hotels that welcome your pets so they can enjoy one of the country’s most iconic ports with you on your next vacation.
There are more than 3,400 rooms that allow tourists to enjoy the port without being separated from their companion animals, from the Diamante Zone to the Historic Bay.
The only thing you should keep in mind is that many of them charge extra fees, and they also have regulations that must be followed for a peaceful coexistence.
This initiative responds to the growing demand from tourists who consider their pets an essential part of their plans; In this way, Acapulco joins an expanding tourism market that seeks more inclusive and personalized experiences, becoming an ideal destination for those who wish to enjoy the sea, sun, and hospitality without leaving their pets behind.
In the Acapulco Diamante area, there are 14 pet-friendly hotels; in the Golden Zone, four; and seven in the Historic Bay, according to data from the Guerrero Tourism Secretariat.
Casa Ahau: A space open to all pets
One of the options you could consider for your next vacation is the Casa Ahau Hotel, where you can stay with your pets for an extra 200 pesos. In addition to dogs and cats, they also welcome parrots, monkeys, and parakeets.
Two years ago, the Casa Ahau Hotel became pet-friendly; here, all areas are accessible to dogs and cats, from the rooms to the restaurant.
“If you have one, two, or three pets and want to bring them to the hotel, there’s no problem because we know many people like to travel with more than one pet or have more than one pet.”

A room costs 1,300 pesos per night, and the rate for pets is an extra 200 pesos per night, but there are no restrictions on size or weight.
To get to Casa Ahau, if you’re coming on the Autopista del Sol (Highway of the Sun), take the Metlapil toll road and from there continue along Boulevard de las Naciones towards the federal highway that leads to Barra Vieja; at kilometer 32, you’ll find this inn, where its blue sign will indicate that you’ve arrived.
Pet-Friendly Hotels in Acapulco: Costs and Restrictions
There are other hotels in the Diamante, Dorada, and Tradicional zones that accept pets, but you should be aware of some restrictions, for example:
Hotel Princess Mundo Imperial: They only accept pets that do not exceed 9 kg (20 lbs) in weight.
Las Brisas and Banayan Tree have some restrictions for pets, in addition to an extra cost per night.
Casa Yalmakan accepts pets, but they are not allowed in the pool or the restaurant area. There is an extra charge of 200 pesos per night.
The Holiday Inn Acapulco La Isla only has two rooms where you can stay with your pet, but reservations must be made in advance and your pet must not weigh more than 6 kilos.
The Bambuddha Holistic Center Hotel recommends that your pets be vaccinated, dewormed, and not aggressive. A stay costs 450 pesos for four nights.
Mishol Hotel and Beach Club: If you stay here, the extra charge is 500 pesos if your pet is less than 40 centimeters tall and 1,000 pesos if it is taller than 40 centimeters.
Fiesta Americana and Villas only accept small breed dogs that do not exceed 20 kilos, and up to two dogs can stay per room.
Hotel Real Bananas accepts dogs weighing no more than 10 kilos and costs 1,000 pesos per night.
To travel to Acapulco with your pet, it’s not recommended to use the bus due to company restrictions. It’s better to travel by car, which could cost you around 1,500 pesos for gas and a little over 1,000 pesos in tolls on the Autopista del Sol (Highway of the Sun).
