This represents a 20 per cent increase compared to this year.

Mazatlán could see a 20 per cent increase in cruise ship arrivals, with 160 cruise ships expected in 2026, compared to 124 this year, reported Mariel Aquileo Ancona Infanzón.

The general director of the Mazatlán National Port System Administration stated that this projection is based on calculations made by cruise lines for their itineraries; however, due to weather conditions, this number could vary.

Mazatlán will close out this year with the arrival of 124 cruise ships carrying nearly 500,000 passengers and an estimated economic impact of 700 million pesos.

“In our proposed arrival projections, we have 160 cruise ships. The actual number could be slightly lower due to various factors, such as weather conditions, but even so, we expect to see a 20 per cent increase,” he said.

Rear Admiral Ancona Infanzón commented that this is a sign that cruise lines continue to trust Mazatlán as a safe port.

“Everything the Municipality, State, National Guard, Navy, Army, Municipal Police, and Traffic Department are doing has contributed to this increased number of arrivals,” he emphasized.

The cruise lines that maintain itineraries along the Mexican Riviera, including Mazatlán, are Carnival Cruise Line, Holland America Line, Princess Cruises, Celebrity Cruises, Norwegian Cruise Line, and Royal Caribbean.
