Businessman and tourism promoter José Gámez Valle mentioned that this weekend is one of the last peak occupancy periods before the new year.
Mazatlán, Sinaloa. Hotel occupancy is expected to reach at least 85 to 90 percent this weekend due to the marathon and baseball games in the city, according to hotel industry leaders.
José Ramón Manguart, president of the Tres Islas Hotel Association, stated that they continue working for Mazatlán through thick and thin, and urged locals, regional visitors, and international tourists to enjoy the sporting events responsibly.
For his part, José Gámez Valle, operations manager of Pueblo Bonito-Emerald Bay and marketing director of the Mazatlán Hotel and Tourism Association, confirmed that hotel occupancy for the marathon had been sold out since last year.
“Sporting events are coming together, and the most important one, without a doubt, is the marathon. In fact, this athletic event was pre-sold a year in advance because people who come specifically for the race book well ahead of time. Therefore, occupancy in Mazatlán will reach at least 85 or 90 percent, with these being the last days of peak occupancy before the New Year’s celebrations,” stated José Gámez Valle.
