According to official reports, the attack occurred earlier this week, prompting immediate investigations by state and federal agencies. The attack against Karina Díaz Hernández, who was the Morena party’s candidate for mayor of Palizada in the 2024 elections, occurred when a group of armed men on a motorcycle fired at her car, which then crashed into a wall.
According to the Campeche State Attorney General’s Office (FGE), Karina Aurora Díaz Hernández was taken to the General Hospital in the municipality of Palizada, where agents from the State Investigation Agency arrived to take a report on the incident.
