An explosion followed by a fire at a taco stand in Mazatlán left three people dead and two others injured.
The incident occurred in the Palos Prietos neighborhood on Saturday, November 15, across from Avenida del Mar, where a malfunction in a gas installation is believed to have caused the explosion, according to the Municipal Police.
Civil Protection, Fire Department, and Public Security Secretariat teams responded immediately to control the flames, secure the area, and assist the victims.
Paramedics treated five people with burns of varying degrees.
Three people died at the scene, and two others were transported to a hospital.
The Regional Deputy Prosecutor’s Office will conduct the corresponding investigations to determine the cause of the incident and remove the bodies.
