In June 2025, industrial activity in the Mexican states of Nayarit, Sinaloa, and Tamaulipas recorded significant growth, according to the latest data from the Monthly Indicator of Industrial Activity by Federal Entity (IMAIEF) published by INEGI. The report highlights a monthly increase of 6.9% in Nayarit, 5.0% in Sinaloa, and 2.9% in Tamaulipas, marking them among the top-performing states nationwide.
This surge reflects a broader trend of economic revitalization in northern and western Mexico, driven by expansion in key sectors such as construction, energy generation, and mining. Nayarit led the way with notable gains in electricity and water supply services, while Sinaloa saw strong performance in construction and manufacturing. Tamaulipas, meanwhile, benefited from increased mining activity and infrastructure development.
On an annual basis, Nayarit posted a remarkable 21.4% growth, followed by Tamaulipas with 8.6% and Sinaloa with 7.4%, underscoring sustained momentum in industrial output compared to June 2024.
Experts attribute this growth to strategic investments, improved logistics, and favorable government policies aimed at boosting regional competitiveness. The rise in industrial activity is expected to generate employment opportunities and stimulate local economies, particularly in urban centers and industrial corridors.
As Mexico continues to diversify its economic base, the performance of Nayarit, Sinaloa, and Tamaulipas signals a promising shift toward regional industrialization. Authorities and business leaders are optimistic that this upward trend will persist through the second half of the year.
