With the increase in vehicle fleets at police stations across all three levels of government, surveillance operations, checkpoints, and patrols are being reinforced.

This is to provide greater security for the general public and in response to the recent events in the city of Gómez Palacio, Durango, where explosive devices were detonated and shots were fired at State Police officers.

Oscar Galván Villarreal, State Secretary of Public Security, stated that these types of preventive actions, to continue guaranteeing peace and tranquility, will be carried out permanently and 24 hours a day, supported by intelligence work and special equipment installed in the units. This will provide information and determine whether the individuals intercepted at the checkpoints have an arrest warrant, and proceed accordingly.

The above is intended to strengthen strategies and maintain a safe state, and it is known that security is being maintained in a state that is one of the safest in the nation, along with Coahuila, with which the authorities involved maintain close communication and coordination to maintain peace.

He emphasized that they will not allow certain individuals or criminal groups to threaten the safety of the general public, and therefore will continue to work together and constantly establish new and improved strategies to provide a better service.

Regarding the two events that occurred in recent days in Gómez Palacio, Durango; where homemade explosive devices were thrown and shots were fired at members of the State Police, he mentioned that there is progress in the investigation and that there are people detained as alleged perpetrators, but they cannot speak about it so as not to hinder the investigation and that it will be the State Attorney General’s Office.
