Mexico City’s beloved Coffee and Chocolate Cultural Festival returned to Coyoacán for its 2025 edition, transforming the Museo Nacional de Culturas Populares into a sensory paradise from October 10 to 12. The event, now in its 13th year, celebrates two of Mexico’s most iconic ingredients—cacao and coffee—through a vibrant mix of gastronomy, culture, and ancestral tradition.

Visitors are invited to indulge in artisanal chocolates, gourmet coffee blends, and traditional pastries, including seasonal favorites like pan de muerto. The festival features over 100 exhibitors from across Mexico, offering everything from single-origin beans and ceremonial cacao to innovative fusion desserts and beverages.

But the experience goes far beyond taste. The museum’s grounds are adorned with cempasúchil flowers, papel picado, and alebrijes, creating a festive atmosphere inspired by Día de Muertos. Attendees can participate in cacao ceremonies, coffee tastings, storytelling sessions, and workshops on cultivation and preparation techniques.

Live music, dance performances, and art installations round out the program, making it a multisensory celebration for families, tourists, and connoisseurs alike. Entry is free, and the festival runs daily from 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., with easy access via Metro General Anaya.

Festival director Mariana del Valle emphasized the event’s mission: “We’re here to honor the cultural roots of cacao and coffee, support local producers, and invite everyone to experience these traditions with all their senses.”

Whether sipping a velvety espresso or savoring a handcrafted truffle, the Coffee and Chocolate Cultural Festival offers a flavorful journey through Mexico’s culinary heritage—one that nourishes both body and soul.
