The terrifying story of the devil who lives in a Puebla church and sometimes escapes to commit evil deeds

A church is always seen as a place where you would see virtually no evil entity, and you would never expect to see anything related to the devil, but everything is different in Cholula, Puebla, where there is a church with a devil inside.

This is the Church of San Miguelito, considered the first chapel built in the city of Cholula. It is dedicated to Saint Michael the Archangel, the religious figure who defeated the devil in a tough battle and protects against all evil. However, this only makes the place stranger.

There are various versions about the devil in the Church of San Miguelito. One example is that it was unearthed, thinking it was a pre-Hispanic artifact, while others claim that someone abandoned it in the temple because of the evil it brought with it.

The little devil is found in the Church of San Miguelito, in Cholula, Puebla.

The story goes that the priest who found it decided to place it in a glass case; however, they noticed that every time they tried to place it inside, it seemed to have grown because the box was always too small for it.

It was through prayer that the little devil was able to take shelter in the glass case, but they still noticed that it was constantly changing position, and the box appeared to have scratches. It was as if the devil were struggling to get out and cause all kinds of mischief.

Interestingly, the custodians claim that it managed to escape from the case and cause accidents in the surrounding area, especially on the nearby highway, which has an area known as the “Devil’s Curve.” It returned to the church where it would reposition itself, confirming that it had a life of its own.

The chapel’s stewards and custodians point out that the figure of the devil is currently under guard, and few people have been able to observe it. However, there are photos of this entity, which ended up being placed inside images of the church saint for safekeeping and reinforced with aluminum crosses on each side of this box to prevent it from emerging again.

However, it seems to remain there only for fun, because one of the custodians stated that there are times when, when he feels like playing tricks, the devil does leave the urn and play tricks in the areas near the San Miguelito church.

Many believe that the Diablito is responsible for several accidents that have occurred in a nearby street that is now widely known as “La Curva del Diablo” (the devil’s curve).
