Bermudez Requena Arrested in Toluca After Returning from Paraguay
Hernán Bermudez Requena, the alleged leader of “La Barredora,” arrived at Toluca International Airport on the evening of September 18th to be detained by Mexican authorities pursuant to an arrest warrant.
After traveling for more than 24 hours from Paraguay, where he was located and subsequently deported, the former Tabasco security secretary, alias “El Abuelo” or “Comandante H,” faces charges of criminal association, extortion, and express kidnapping.
This arrest is particularly significant because Requena served as an official during the government of Adán Augusto López in Tabasco.
