In the state of Hidalgo, a dense layer of foam blocked the Chilcuautla-Alfajayucan state highway.

In a scene that seemed to have come from a science fiction movie, in the Mexican state of Hidalgo, a dense layer of foam blocked the Chilcuautla-Alfajayucan state highway near the community of La Cañada.

The unusual incident was caused by runoff from the Javier Rojo Gómez Dam, located next to this road, which receives runoff from the Valley of Mexico region.

The foam invasion of the road caused approximately 50 meters of road to be covered, making it impossible for motorists and motorcyclists to pass.

Residents of the area reported that on Sunday, June 22, around 3 p.m., the foam began to invade the asphalt of the road, which had only been open to traffic for a few months.

As of Monday, June 23, no authorities had arrived to remove the foam, so residents were unable to use the road and had to take alternate routes to reach their destinations.
