The project’s construction is scheduled to begin in July.

The Mexican government, through the National Water Commission (Conagua), launched the bidding process for Agua para Colima, one of the 17 strategic water projects promoted by the Federal Government to address the needs of the areas with the greatest water scarcity and reduce flood risks.

Agua para Colima involves the construction of an aqueduct that will complement the one located in Zacualpan, bringing drinking water to more than 238,000 residents.

The projected investment for this project is 1.78 billion pesos (MDP), of which 360 million pesos will be allocated in 2025.

According to the schedule, work on this project will begin in July.

With this tender, Conagua advances the development of strategic projects and reaffirms its commitment to join forces with local governments to build infrastructure projects that contribute to guaranteeing the human right to water, as enshrined in the National Agreement on the Human Right to Water and Sustainability.
