The lead singer of the group “Conquistadores de la Sierra,” Julio “N,” was killed on the night of Sunday, June 1, while performing at the “Guamuchilito” bar, located in the El Guante neighborhood of the municipality of Emiliano Zapata, confirmed the Secretary of Security and Citizen Protection, Miguel Ángel Urrutia Lozano.
In an interview, Urrutia Lozano reported that the case is being handled by the State Attorney General’s Office (FGE), which is already pursuing several lines of investigation; one of the most serious is the one that allegedly involves a romantic partner of the singer.
The incident occurred around 11:00 p.m. at the establishment, located in the Metropolitan Area, while the group was allegedly entertaining the crowd.
Armed individuals fired shots at the singer inside the bar.
Later, a strong police and emergency services mobilization was reported, which reported that one person had died.
On social media, Julio’s friends left emotional farewell messages, expressing their disbelief at this situation.
Authorities are expected to provide more information about these events in the coming hours.
