Adhara Maite Pérez Sánchez is a 13-year-old Mexican girl (born on August 28, 2011) recognized for her extraordinary IQ of 162, higher than that of figures such as Albert Einstein and Stephen Hawking. Originally from Veracruz, Mexico, and diagnosed with Asperger’s syndrome at age 3, Adhara has overcome challenges such as bullying to achieve impressive academic achievements.
She finished elementary school at age 5, middle school at age 6, and high school at age 7. At age 11, she became the youngest person to earn a master’s degree in Mexico, in Industrial Engineering in Mathematics from the National Polytechnic Institute (IPN).
She has also completed two bachelor’s degrees: Systems Engineering and Mathematics Engineering.
Her dream is to become an astronaut and work with NASA, with specific goals of participating in missions to the Moon and Mars.
Currently, she is focused on studying Astrophysics at the University of Arizona, although she faces financial and visa challenges to achieve this goal.
Adhara is the author of the book “Don’t Give Up,” in which she shares her experiences with autism and motivates other children to pursue their dreams. She is also working on a smart bracelet project to prevent seizures and supports children with autism through her foundation, “Adhara Harvesting Stars.”
In 2019, she was included on Forbes’ list of the 100 most powerful women in Mexico, and in 2021, the Mexican Senate recognized her for her academic achievements.
Adhara is a source of Mexican pride and an example of perseverance, demonstrating that barriers, such as autism or a lack of resources, should not limit human potential.
