The two suspects arrested for the murder of María del Carmen Morales, a member of the Jalisco Search and Rescue Warriors (Guerreros Buscadores) collective, and her 26-year-old son, Jaime Daniel, are being investigated for their involvement in at least 10 other homicides.

The Prosecutor’s Office reported that they are Juan Manuel “N,” 27, and José Luis “N,” 24, who have been placed before a supervisory judge, who will determine their legal status in the coming days, for the murder of the searching warrior and her son.

“Two people have already been detained and taken into custody. The Prosecutor’s Office arrested them yesterday afternoon. They are the two people who shot the searching mother and her son. They are already in custody and will be brought before a judge in the coming hours,” Governor Pablo Lemus Navarro reported.

Other arrest warrant requests are currently being processed against the same individuals for the crimes of aggravated homicide and attempted homicide, for events that occurred on October 7, 2024, as well as another arrest warrant request for another case, in which they allegedly took the life of a person on December 13, 2024.

María del Carmen and her son Jaime Daniel Ramírez were searching for Ernesto Julián Ramírez Morales, María del Carmen’s son and Jaime Daniel’s brother, who has been missing since February 27, 2024.

The double homicide occurred at 11:20 p.m. on the aforementioned day, in a park located at 32 Villa Sur Street, at the intersection with Villa Sur Street.

That night, María del Carmen and Jaime Daniel were in the park filling buckets with water when the two individuals arrived on a black and red dirt bike with Michoacán state license plates.

They stopped the motorcycle, José Luis “N” got off with a firearm, approached his victims, shot them several times, and immediately got back on the motorcycle to escape with his accomplice, Juan Manuel “N.”

Investigative officers established the identity of the perpetrators, and the Public Ministry agent requested an arrest warrant, which was granted by a judge and executed by investigators, who captured the perpetrators in the municipality of Tlajomulco.
