A natural oasis located within the boundaries of the municipality of Satevó is emerging as the state’s next ecotourism destination.

El Salto is a natural oasis nestled among the grasslands of Satevó, Chihuahua, and is emerging as the state’s next ecotourism destination. Although it is privately owned, Mayor Norma Muñoz has initiated discussions to launch a project with camping, hiking, and connecting with nature through its waterfall.

Satevó is one of the municipalities that make up the southern part of Chihuahua. Although geographically it can be defined as located in the south-central part of Chihuahua, it is considered part of the Parral region. Its terrain is merely dry, as grasslands are one of its main characteristics.

High temperatures also prevail, and its main economic activities are livestock and agriculture, and in recent years, mining has gained importance.

Its territorial extension is vast and borders the municipalities of Nonoava, San Francisco de Borja, Valle del Rosario, Valle de Zaragoza, Dr. Belisario Domínguez, Chihuahua, and Delicias. Due to its vast territorial scope, some areas are unknown and are only known by some residents of Satevó, but they are not forgotten by municipal authorities.

It is governed by Norma Muñoz Anchondo, the municipal president. In an interview, she reported that the government has tourism projects to attract visitors and improve business income. To this end, she noted that they have plans in this area that can improve this area. Specifically, the mayor spoke about El Salto, a paradise that envelops the population with its complete connection with nature.

El Salto is a hidden spot, almost an hour away from the municipal capital, and it belongs to the Torreón Ejido. Access is via a dirt road, and during the journey, you can see the dry fields in the region, although as you go deeper into nature, the appearance changes from dry to humid.
