In the municipality of Macuspana, Tabasco, the birthplace of former President Andrés Manuel López Obrador, human remains were found in two clandestine graves located on a supposedly abandoned ranch; residents reported the incident to authorities.
According to local media, residents reported foul odors, prompting security personnel to be sent to the site to conduct the investigation.
Sources consulted by Latinus reported that two graves containing human and skeletal remains were found on the site.
The media reported that municipal police officers responded, cordoned off the area, and confirmed the discovery of human remains.
Subsequently, members of the state prosecutor’s office and experts arrived to collect the remains found, begin the corresponding investigation, and determine the identity of the persons.
Last week, in a media interview, the head of the State Attorney General’s Office, José Barajas Mejía, reported the discovery of two clandestine graves in Centla, Tabasco, containing four bodies.
In Jalisco, in early March, search groups reported the discovery of human remains and personal belongings at the Izaguirre ranch, located in Teuchitlán; not far from the state capital Guadalajara, it has been identified as a training and forced recruitment center operated by the Jalisco New Generation Cartel (CJNG).
This week, the Attorney General’s Office (FGR) took up the case and pointed out irregularities in the investigation conducted by the Jalisco prosecutor’s office.
