Ovidio Guzmán López is a Mexican former drug lord and high-ranking member of the Sinaloa Cartel, a criminal group based in the state of Sinaloa.

He is the son of the drug lord Joaquín “El Chapo” Guzmán, once considered Mexico’s most-wanted drug lord and the world’s most-wanted criminal.

Ovidio Guzmán’s hearing, scheduled for March 31 in Chicago, Illinois, has been canceled once again due to the plea agreement being negotiated by the prosecution and defense.

The son of Joaquín “El Chapo” Guzmán, who is accused of being one of the leaders of the Los Chapitos faction, will appear in court in the Northern District of Illinois until May 12.

Guzmán is charged with, among other crimes, conspiracy to launder money, being a member of a criminal enterprise, and possession of illicit substances for distribution.
