SECTUR will invest 70 million pesos in tourism promotion for Mazatlan

Mazatlán, Sinaloa is set to receive a significant boost in its tourism sector with an investment of 70 million pesos (3.5 million USD).

The Sinaloa Secretariat of Tourism (Sectur) announced this strategic plan to enhance Mazatlán’s appeal as a premier tourist destination. The investment aims to promote the city through various campaigns and partnerships with leading travel platforms such as Expedia, Despegar, Best Day, and Price Travel.

The promotion strategy includes a series of initiatives designed to attract both national and international tourists. These initiatives involve collaborations with influencers and athletes, as well as targeted campaigns in key markets like the United States and Canada. Additionally, the plan includes participation in major tourism fairs and events, with a budget of 1.6 million pesos allocated for these activities.

The investment also supports the “Un Mar de Historias” campaign, which focuses on attracting visitors from Monterrey, Durango, Torreón, and Saltillo. This campaign has a dedicated budget of 869,000 pesos. Furthermore, the promotion of Mazatlán’s cultural events, including 11 carnivals across the state, will receive 42.9 million pesos in funding.

This comprehensive approach aims to solidify Mazatlán’s position as a top tourist destination, boosting its economy and attracting a diverse range of visitors.
