At least 30 children have been killed in Sinaloa due to drug trafficking conflict
Omar Harfuch, Secretary of Security, acknowledged that approximately 30 minors have been killed during conflicts between drug trafficking groups in Sinaloa.
“The deaths suffered by these minors have been caused by these criminal groups,” Harfuch accused.
Claudia Sheinbaum’s government attributes the violence in the northern state to the fight between “Chapitos” and “Mayiza” that broke out in September of last year for the capture of “El Mayo” Zambada.
The most emblematic case has been that of the brothers Gael and Alexander, aged 9 and 12 respectively, murdered along with their father on Sunday, January 19, which provoked massive protests demanding the resignation of the governor of Sinaloa, Rubén Rocha Moya, of the ruling National Regeneration Movement (Morena).
What has the authority done? Make constant reinforcements in the state of Sinaloa, weaken the criminal structures, as has been reported, so that these events do not occur, by decreasing homicides in the state of Sinaloa, homicides of minors will also decrease,” he said.
Omar Garcia Harfuch asserted that during the Sheinbaum Government they have arrested 899 people related to the conflict, which has “weakened” both factions of the Sinaloa Cartel.
