Mexicali, Baja California. A drone carrying cocaine was seized in Mexicali, near the border fence between Mexico and the United States.
The device was detected in a mirror operation on the international line between the US Border Patrol and the Baja California State Force for Citizen Security (FESC). The US agents alerted the Mexican elements about a device that flew over and crossed the border.
During the work, FESC agents arrested two men, in the Fronteriza neighborhood, who were found in possession of the drone.
The device was maneuvered from a truck on the streets of Cadiz and Aguascalientes in that neighborhood, west of the international gate of Mexicali-Calexico, an area commonly used for human and drug trafficking.
In capturing it, they managed to land the drone, which was carrying a bundle with six packages of cocaine attached with transparent tape on the top.
The detainees identified themselves as Narciso and Waldo, both from the southern state of Guerrero, who were handed over to the State Attorney General’s Office for criminal prosecution.
The Border Patrol did not issue reports about any detention of people in Imperial County, bordering Mexicali.
