The detainee was investigated for crimes such as homicide and the use of explosive devices against government facilities.
Rogelio “N”, known as “El Gato”, was arrested by agents of the Armed Forces in Mazatlán, Sinaloa, after being identified as a member of a criminal cell linked to the Sinaloa Cartel, specifically to the faction known as Los Chapitos.
According to the Secretariat of Security and Citizen Protection (SSPC), the detainee is accused of his alleged participation in various crimes, including attempted qualified homicide, and for planning attacks with explosives against law enforcement facilities.
The capture took place in the Invasión del Palmito neighborhood, in Mazatlán, a place that the authorities identified as his mobility zone. According to the SSPC, the agents located the suspect on Rita Castro Street, where they confirmed his identity before proceeding with his arrest.
During the security check, he was found in possession of a short firearm. Therefore, he was placed at the disposal of the Public Ministry, which will determine his legal situation in the coming days.

According to the authorities, Rogelio “N” was part of the criminal cell known as “Los Jordan”, a criminal group dedicated mainly to drug dealing.
This group has been linked to at least four homicides in the region. In addition, it is accused of manufacturing and using improvised explosive devices, designed to be used with drones, which represents a significant threat to public safety.
