Escuinapa, Sinaloa. (January 25, 2025).- At 5 a.m. on Saturday, January 25, while a military patrol was being carried out in Escuinapa, members of the Mexican Army found a chained lion inside a house and several cartridges scattered on the ground, on the corner of Agustín Melgar with Mariano Escobedo Streets.
According to the report, the military approached the property when they heard the animal’s roar.
The military, upon observing the open door of the house, approached and discovered the cartridges lying on the ground.
Aware of the danger, they established a security perimeter to protect the community and the animal, while they advanced in the inspection.
They also discovered a shooting practice space which suggested possible links to illegal activities.
The case was taken over by the Federal Public Prosecutor’s Office, attached to the Attorney General’s Office in Escuinapa.
