Five months after the arrest of Ismael “El Mayo” Zambada and four months after the escalation of drug violence between two factions of the Sinaloa Cartel in Sinaloa, a narco-banner signed by Los Chapitos appeared, with a message for President Claudia Sheinbaum, in which they accuse two military officers of corruption and ask for her support.
There were three narco-messages found on Monday, January 13. Two of them mention two people: a lieutenant and a battalion sergeant of the National Defense Secretariat (formerly Sedena).
The messages were found during the early hours of Monday, January 13th, according to local media.
One of the messages was found in the town of La Cruz in the municipality of Elota, even photos circulating on social networks show the message in the tourist letters of the community.
News reports indicate that messages were also found on a bridge that gives access to the community of La Cruz, Sinaloa.

The narco-banner addressed to Claudia Sheinbaum in Sinaloa signed by Los Chapitos: says the following:
“Mrs. Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo, we ask you most attentively, as supreme commander of the armed forces, to pay attention to this message and take action. Lieutenant Valdemar López and the sergeant of the 110th battalion of the municipality of San Ignacio,” says the message left in La Cruz, which belongs to Elota.
They add that a supposed “commander” of a criminal group “provides the service of passing on information and selling weapons and communication of the opposing factions,” reads the abandoned narco-banners, for which they ask for the dismissal of the military for providing information and selling firearms to the faction opposed to ‘Los Chapitos’.
Part of the message mentions that the military agents would be linked to an alleged commander of the “MF”, initials of the nickname of Ismael Zambada Sicairos, “Mayito Flaco”, son of “El Mayo” and whom the authorities identify as the leader of one of the factions of the Sinaloa Cartel, which conflicts with Los Chapitos.
The accused would be allegedly related to Héctor Manuel Avendaño Ojeda, “El Meño”, who is a close collaborator of “Mayito Flaco”.
At the end of the message written in red on a white blanket appears the drawing of a slice of pizza, which is the signature of the “Cha-pizza” (Los Chapitos) the faction of the Sinaloa Cartel led by the sons of “El Chapo Guzmán, as a propaganda strategy.
So far neither the president nor any authority has shared any position on what is stated in the messages.
This is not the first time that messages from members of organized crime addressed to Claudia Sheinbaum have appeared. In October 2024, a message for the president of Mexico was left in the state capital of Sinaloa.
In the message, those responsible accused the cell known as Cabrera-Sarabia of the violence in Zacatecas and Durango.
The message appeared in Culiacán and was also signed by La Chapiza CDS (Cartel de Sinaloa).
