Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo closed her first month of government as president of Mexico, however, she did so with 2,293 intentional homicides.
During AMLO’s Bloody six-year term, almost 200 thousand intentional homicides were officially registered, while President Claudia Sheinbaum closed her first month of government with 2,293 intentional homicides.
This Thursday, October 31, Sheinbaum Pardo completed one month of assuming the Presidency.
According to the daily report of intentional homicides of the Secretariat of Security and Citizen Protection (SSPC), from October 1 to 31, 2,293 intentional homicides were recorded.
The above represents an average of 73.9 murders per day nationwide.
The figure represents a 2.4 percent reduction compared to September, the last month of the government of former President Andrés Manuel López Obrador (AMLO).
In that month, 2,350 murders were reported, that is, 57 intentional homicides less than in the first month of Claudia Sheinbaum’s government.
For October 2023, the increase for this year is 6.7 percent, after that month of last year closed with 2,148 intentional homicides.
The homicides recorded in the first month of Claudia Sheinbaum’s government were concentrated, in absolute numbers, in the states of Baja California, Chiapas, Chihuahua, Edomex, Guanajuato, Guerrero, Jalisco, Michoacán, Nuevo León and Sinaloa, according to the report.
However, the highest rates of intentional homicide victims per 100,000 inhabitants are concentrated in Colima with 82.77; Morelos, with 57.73; Baja California, with 45.36; Chihuahua, with 38.31, and Guerrero, with 35.99.
Also Sonora, with 35.90; Guanajuato, with 35.13; Quintana Roo, with 26.34; Tabasco, with 26.28, and Michoacán, with 23.65, according to the National Public Security System (SNSP) with preliminary data as of October 20.
