Tequila Express, operated by the Guadalajara Chamber of Commerce and Grupo México Transportes, began commercial trips

The Government of Jalisco made the reactivation of this tourist attraction possible with an investment of 81 million pesos added to the 120 million pesos contributed by the private sector

Thanks to the support and management of the Government of Jalisco, with the help of the Guadalajara Chamber of Commerce and Grupo México Transportes (Ferromex), this weekend the Tequila Express train began its operations open to the public on the Guadalajara-Tequila route, adding around 400 passengers on the runs.

The relaunch of this route will be key in promoting tourism in Guadalajara and the Tequila Route of the Agave Landscape.

The train will allow you to discover uniquely the most authentic face of traditional Mexico by entering the Tequila Route of the Agave Landscape.

The train will allow you to discover uniquely the most authentic face of traditional Mexico by entering the Tequila Route of the Agave Landscape.

In addition to the 60-kilometer journey, tourists will be able to experience a unique cultural experience by visiting different distilleries complementing their trip with a careful selection of food, and drinks, or simply reserving transportation.

Tequila Express, in addition to a cultural experience in Jalisco, is a way to practice responsible tourism, using one of the most ecological means of transportation while enjoying the agave landscape listed by UNESCO as a World Cultural Heritage Site.

This project unifies the railway tourism offer currently operated by Ferromex and the Chamber of Commerce of Guadalajara, and this synergy will improve operational efficiency to enrich the region’s tourism offer, attracting national and international visitors interested in the tequila culture and agave landscapes.
