Mexican law enforcement authorities rescued more than 50 immigrants from different countries in the town of Jantetelco, State of Morelos.
The immigrants were taken to Torre 21 a place in the municipality of Cuautla, where they will be staying.
A total of 51 people of different nationalities were rescued in the community of Tenango, in the municipality of Jantetelco, Morelos, during an operation by the Secretariat of Public Security and Citizen Protection, the Secretariat of National Defense, the National Guard, and authorities of Puebla.
According to what has been reported so far, the rescue was achieved after a report that there were several people held captive in said community, who were aboard a pickup truck, for which a joint operation was mounted.
Personnel from the National Migration Institute also participated, it was specified that when they saw a pickup truck with several people on board, they were told to stop, but they ignored it and then a chase began.
Thus, on the La Laja highway, in the town of Tenango, they managed to stop the vehicle, although the driver and co-pilot fled.
Upon inspecting the truck, 51 people were found, although at first it was reported that there were 44 of different nationalities. This corresponded to 26 adult men, 11 women, 14 minors, nine males, and five females.
The 51 rescued people were transferred to the Torre 21 facilities, located in the municipality of Cuautla, for their examination; meanwhile, it is determined if the rescued people are victims of a crime and thus determine if they will be sent to Cuernavaca.
Due to these events, an operation was mounted at the Torre 21 facilities, so the building was guarded by federal elements in the community of Tetelcingo.
