A pool on Farallón Avenue in Acapulco collapsed due to the intense rains caused by Hurricane John, which hit the coasts of Guerrero and Oaxaca this week.
The constant rains and winds have caused flooding, power outages, landslides, and collapses of structures.
Residents of two buildings located on the closed street of El Caracol in the Condesa subdivision of this port evacuated their homes after the collapse of a wall and a pool.
During a tour of Quadratín Guerrero, it was found that so far no authority has come to the place to limit the area and attend to the damage caused by the heavy rains caused by Hurricane John.
Neighbors acknowledged that they are terrified of the heavy rains that have not stopped for three days, so since Wednesday afternoon-evening they decided to leave and seek shelter with relatives.
They pointed out that in that area the hill continues to break away and there is land dragging, while the flood has not stopped, and even knocked down part of a wall of one of the buildings in the Golden Zone of the city.
In the houses on Farallón Avenue, the neighbors also left out of fear, since they feared being buried in the rubble and the generated earth.
The pool area collapsed after the building’s foundations softened due to the heavy rainfall that continued through John.
