The Facebook page known as Informacion Calderitas describes itself as a news outlet with information and humor.
On Monday, September 9th. Informacion Calderitas posted a photograph of Academy Award winner Director and Producer James Cameron, saying that the famous cinematographer is planning to shoot his next film about the first trip to the moon in this city, joking around with the enormous potholes scattered all over Chetumal, Quintana Roo.

After filming his iconic film “Titanic” in Tijuana, Baja California, in 1996, James Cameron returns to Mexico for his next project. This time, he chose Chetumal, the state capital of Quintana Roo, as his new movie’s stage.
According to official sources, filming will begin in March next year.
The film will tell the story of Neil Armstrong and his historic first trip to the moon.
To recreate the scenes of the natural satellite, Cameron has opted for the streets and roads of Chetumal, whose state of potholes and surface are remarkably similar to that of the moon’s craters.
In the state capital of Quintana Roo, it is common to see streets full of potholes and sinkholes, which cause accidents and damage to cars, motorcycles, bicycles, tricycles, and any other vehicle every day, for which the owners must pay at least two thousand pesos to repair their tires.
The recent rains increased the problem and there is no quick solution that can minimize the expense that people have when they are victims of one of these potholes that look like holes covered with branches, buckets, or some household accessory.
The same affected citizens suggested to the municipal authorities an emergency pothole repair program, to temporarily cover the affected areas so that they do not continue to cause problems, since the minimum damage can cost about two thousand pesos, for a burst tire or several thousand pesos more for a broken part.
