In September, the tricolor festival begins to shine in Queretaro

With the arrival of September, patriotic decorations appear in the first square of the Queretaro capital, as well as the vendors who with flags, banners, pins, standards, and rattles, give tricolor color and brightness to the streets.

This year’s decorations, for many citizens, do not meet expectations. “They are very tacky,” says a young woman about the archway that was placed on Madero Street, between the intersection of Juarez Avenue and Allende Street.

Opinions are divided. Some consider it very attractive and showy, while some other people see it as something “not funny.”

On one side of the archway, there is a QR code in which the visitor can access information about the intervention called “Ancestral Vibrations,” which is placed there.

In the Plaza de Armas, a large sign was placed with the phrase “Long Live Mexico,” which is used by passersby to take photos.

While the Palacio de la Corregidora displays patriotic decorations with green, white, and red colors.

In the Historic Center, in front of the Guerrero garden, large pinwheels decorate the front of the building and a series of lights adorn the facade, which illuminates at night.

Merchants occupy the corners of the streets of the first square of the city and shopping centers as well.

They offer flags, ribbons, banners, tricolor clothes for babies, pins, noisemakers, hats, and earrings, among other products. On each corner, there is a flag stand. This gives a special color to the streets during the weeks before September 15.
